Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.

For example, most people who are great writers are unable to create content of any type consistently. By the same token, many people who are great photographers are unable to produce the types of images they would like to get published. The difference is that they are able to focus on the tasks at hand and never allow themselves to think about what would create great content.
