The opposite is true. We all know people that we are very aware of, but they are rarely aware of what we are doing. They are aware of their own behavior, but they are unaware of the actions of their friends, family members, and significant others. The fact that we are aware of our own behavior and the actions of others, but not aware of our own actions, is a sign that we are doing something, so we can change our behavior.
This is a common mistake that leads to a lot of social problems. When people are aware of the actions of others, they usually try to hide their own behaviors in order to avoid being noticed. This is what’s known as the “pink elephant syndrome.” Many people try to act innocent, but when they have to reveal their actions, they can’t help but be seen as being guilty.

For instance, if we need to use the restroom, we wont go to the urinal in the middle of the night but instead wait until we are certain we will be alone. We also have a feeling of urgency. When we need something, we act without thinking. When we are stressed, we are likely to act more impulsively and that leads to a lot of problems.
