I was asked to speak at an event just last week to launch the new Center for Career and Technology Education (CCTE). I was very excited to finally be able to share my perspectives, experience, and advice with all of you who are seeking to be successful in their careers.

I was very excited to finally be able to share my perspectives, experience, and advice with all of you who are seeking to be successful in their careers. It’s amazing how much of our day-to-day has to do with the day-to-day activities of our lives. I’ve been told that I’m always on a treadmill, that I wake up and I jog for five hours (not to mention the fact that I have a pretty active workout schedule), that I have to start my day with a cup of coffee, or that I have to get the kids to school at a certain time.

For example, when it comes to career decisions, if you’re looking to move into a new field, you need to determine whether you can handle working in a new place and making the transition. If you can, move on to other opportunities.

I mean, if you can just move into a place that has a library, a gym, and a park, then you’d be set up to get to know people outside of your work/school schedule. Even if it’s just the one or two kids in your school, you’d get some of that social life.
